Dr. Nakajima’s primary research interests include human auditory mechanics, middle-ear prostheses, acoustical stimulation of the cochlea, and the development and diagnosis and treatment of middle and inner ear disease. Her research addresses fundamental scientific questions about the auditory system and develops new and improved methods to diagnose and treat human hearing disease. She accomplishes this through experiments on human cadaveric preparations, clinical measurements on live humans, and on modeling of the hearing system.
